As part of the second day of the Economic Workshop organized by the Arab Fertilizer Association (AFA) in Istanbul, Türkiye, Jack Walters of Poten & Partners delivered a presentation entitled “Supply Chain Resilience & Logistics Excellence,” highlighting the latest developments and challenges affecting shipping and logistics across the fertilizer and ammonia sectors.
The session reviewed shipping dynamics throughout the fertilizer value chain, including the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), ammonia, and dry bulk markets. It also examined the key factors influencing freight markets and transportation costs, as well as their implications for global supply chains.
The presentation further explored freight and logistics forecasting methodologies, the impact of developments in the Strait of Hormuz on global trade flows and maritime markets, and potential short-term recovery scenarios. In addition, it highlighted strategies for enhancing supply chain resilience and maintaining logistics excellence amid continuing market uncertainties and evolving global conditions.
